A photo of a veteran and his service dog has been sharedmore than times, but the narrative behind it is equally heartwarming.

The attacks on the World Trade Center shake Clay Luthy so much that he joined the Air force in 2002.
After his train, he became a loadmaster who transported cargo all over the world, including to Afghanistan and Iraq.
Unfortunately, he injured both his kneesand had to undergo five knee surgeries over four years, and he could no longer work as a handyman.
Unable to kneel, Clay had to find a new career. His spouse indicated he apply for a chore at Lowes.

” She told me,’ Youre there every day. You might as well get paid for it.'”
So, Clay did. He took his service puppy, Charlotte, to the interview and they both got the job.
Luthy says Charlotte loves the attention she gets at the hardware store.

Charlotte is extra special, Luthy said. She knows the difference between her service vest and her Lowes vest.
Along with working at Lowe’s, her other mission is to be there for Clay, and she’s trained for medical alerting and mobility.

There are more than 10,000 commentaries on the Facebook post, with people praising both Charlotte and Lowe’s.

But Clay is a modest guy.
When his sister called to tell him hed run viral, Clay replied, No I havent. Charlotte did. Im only the schmuck on the other end of the leash.
But thankfully they’re both getting the respect they deserve.
