The battle between cats and birds rages on.
On Tuesday, viewers of the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania( ASWP) 24/7 live-stream of an eagle nest were surprised and shocked to insure bald eagles feeding their nesting eaglets a cat. Its still unclear whether the cat was a pet or feral.
Jim Bonner, executive director of ASWP, confirmed peoples suspicion that the cat was already dead by the time it reached the nest. Speaking to CBS Pittsburgh , he added that its likely the cat was scavenged, rather than actively hunted by the eagles. Its hard to tell where they discovered it, ” he said.”It could have been dead from being hit by a vehicle or some other challenges.
As brutal as the eagles option of dinner may seem, Bonner points out that its important we dont attain moral judgements on nature. As one kid from a local elementary school wisely told CBS Pittsburgh , Thats only the way nature works.
