Fans of” Fixer Upper” no doubt have heard that stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have announced they’re having a fifth child. That’s good news, right? In an opinion piece for Canada’s CBC News, Kristen Pyszczyk was surprised by( but not opposed to) some of the online backlash,” because it’s a sentiment so seldom heard in a society that generally celebrates procreation with virtually militant cheerfulness .”
We can already ensure where this is going.
Idiotic. “Procreation is becoming a global public health concern, rather than a personal decision. So when people do irresponsible things like having five children, we absolutely need to be calling them out.” https :// t.co/ jnTIhtBkt5

While having a child or five is a very personal choice, it’s also a choice that affects all my fellow members who occupies our planet. So while many people might find the backlash unwarranted, it’s actually a dialogue we need to have in order to challenge our uncritical adoption of the life-fulfillment-through-procreation tale . … Now, as a feminist, I tend to oppose any cultural conversation that involves telling a woman what to do with her body. But girls have long been told that they need to have kids to have a meaningful life, and they are groomed for motherhood from a very early age.
But we don’t often hear arguments for alternatives to motherhood. Women need to be presented with options for a fulfilling life that don’t involve taking 20 years of their own lives to care for offspring. Changing the narrative around motherhood should help to offset some of the cultural conditioning we receive throughout our lives.
So Chip and Joanna Gaines have to be called out for contributing to a global public health concern? By having a fifth infant?
Just in case you thought it was only the U.S. that is witnessing a mainstreaming of profoundly dehumanizing notions, read this. https :// t.co/ IpNdNbYvtD

I cannot believe we need to “have a conversation” about how irresponsible it is to have multiple children. If a married couple can financially and emotionally support however many kids into becoming productive adults then more power to them! I hope they have 10 children. #ridiculous https :// t.co/ rnARun2j 04

We live in a world where it’s cool to kill as many babies as we want but deemed virulent to have them. Never has any society been more incorrect about anything. https :// t.co/ LFUX1VzXe 8

Stupid stuff here, same old population control rubbish. “The answer to anyone who talks about the surplus population is to ask him[ or her] whether he is the surplus population; or if he is not, how he knows he is not.” G. Ryan as a former poster child let me say this and say it clearly. It is high time we round up all these people advocating for eugenics and show them how eugenics works. That will change their intellects really quickly. It’s a sad state of affairs when this becomes the public discord. https :// t.co/ nD8M8UvrEO
